Our repeat customers, who enjoy our style of travel, asked us to create new tours to different regions. At their request, we have added tours to Languedoc, the French Alps, Southern Brittany and now introducing a northern Brittany extension. We love having our repeat travelers return to France with us. Best of France Travels has been offering small group luxury guided tours of France since 2000. We visit lots of out of the way places that are virtually undiscovered by the average tourist. We have developed relationships with locals who are experts in wine, gastronomy, history, and know the secrets such as when the chestnut festival is held, where to hunt for mushrooms, strange and mysterious liqueurs we’ve never heard of, where to get the best oysters, which day the local café meals are prepared by the grand-mere (and therefore the best day to eat there!)…We will share many of these finds with our customers on our tours.

The owner, Shannan Carter, personally accompanies every tour.   She lived in French-speaking Belgium for one full year as a Rotary Exchange Student, studied French at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and taught French in Australia for 5 years.  She studied at the International Pedagogy Centre in Paris on a French-language teaching scholarship from the French Government, and now lives in Carcassonne!  An experienced group travel specialist, Shannan has arranged and led tours for groups across the globe for many years.  She loves sharing the beauty, history, and culture of France with all of her customers!
